We are experienced in industrial agriculture and biochemical processes.  This experience includes the design of a wide range of agricultural commodity, forest product, cosmetic, fertilizer, aquaculture and aquaponic processes.

We have supported international processors in the development and implementation of major projects.  Industrial processing clients include Monsanto, Archer Daniels Midland, Bunge, James Richardson International and Bayer CropScience.  We have also supported process-related projects for government clients including Alberta Infrastructure, Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development, Alberta Innovates and Technology Futures, Agriculture and Agri-food Canada and Public Works and Government Services Canada.

We are experienced in the design of bulk materials handling, processing, packaging, microbiology laboratories, pilot plants and storage facilities.  Bulk solids processing experience includes cleaning, coating, milling, extraction and drying applications.  We are also familiar with liquid handling processes including viscous fluids, suspensions, corrosive, microbiologically sensitive, explosive and high temperature applications.

Food Processing / Pharmaceutical

We have provided engineering services to international clients including Coca Cola, PepsiCo, McCain Foods, Molson Canada and Banner Pharmacaps.

Our food processing experience is extensive, ranging from meat slaughter and fresh pack vegetables to snack foods and ready-to-eat meals.  We are familiar with both domestic and international regulatory requirements relating to facility construction and food safety systems.

Biofuels and Renewable Energy

Trimark Engineering provides process engineering design and project management services to the renewable energy and biofuel industries.  Our experience includes involvement in an 88 megawatt (MW) wind farm project and in a 225 million litre per year biodiesel project. In the last 2 years, Trimark Engineering supported over 20 renewable energy initiatives in Canada for private sector clients, industry organizations and government. 

We maintain positive, yet vendor-neutral, working relationships with leading industry technology providers.  Our renewable energy group leader has over 35 years of international engineering experience.  He has provided hands-on operational and engineering support to clients in Europe, Central and South America, the Middle East and Canada.  This includes experience as field and commissioning engineer.

In the biodiesel sector, we are familiar with a wide range of transesterification, hydrogenation and metathesis technologies using alternate feedstocks including vegetable oils and fats.  This includes experience in oilseed crushing, solvent extraction and refining.  We have extensive experience in the definition and specification of equipment and process systems.  We provide services to support technology assessment, capital cost development, technical feasibility, engineering design, procurement, installation and commissioning.  We have the experience and expertise to deliver practical solutions across the supply chain.
